(Chicago) William Nylander scored 1: 58 in overtime and the Toronto Maple Leafs won 3-2 over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Following a pass from Auston Matthews, Nylander broke away and beat Kevin Lankinen between the pads.
By stopping a four-game losing streak, the Leafs slipped the Hawks’ record to 0-6-1.
John Tavares and David Kampf also scored for Toronto, while Jack Campbell stopped 25 shots. The Maple Leafs completed a three-game trip on a high note.
“It feels good,” summed up winners coach Sheldon Keefe.
They will meet their supporters on Saturday night, against the Detroit Red Wings.
The Blackhawks’ reply came from Kirby Dach and Alex DeBrincat. Lankinen repelled 36 shots.
