(Toronto) The Toronto Maple Leafs added forward Mitch Marner and defenseman Rasmus Sandin to the injured list on Tuesday, and loaned forward Joey Anderson to their Toronto Marlies school club in the American League.
The Maple Leafs have also recalled forward Alex Steeves and defensemen Alex Biega and Kristians Rubins from the Marlies.
Marner has not played since being involved in a collision with teammate Jake Muzzin during a practice session on Friday.
As for Sandin, he was injured after a knee-to-knee shock Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets. Defender Neal Pionk received a two-game suspension for his gesture.
In their message posted on Twitter, the Maple Leafs did not specify the exact nature of the injuries to their two players, nor the potential length of their absence.
The Maple Leafs are due to host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night.
