Under a stifling heat, France continues to burn. The journalist Alexandre Hébert takes stock of the eight major fires declared in France, Thursday August 11, in the 11 p.m. of franceinfo.
In addition to the devastating fire in Gironde and the Landes, seven other major fires are currently burning French forests, Thursday August 11. In the gorges of the Tarn, between Lozère and Aveyron, more than 730 hectares have already burned and 500 firefighters are mobilized. “In the Jura, the flames also continue their inexorable progression”, explains journalist Alexandre Hébert, on the 23h set of franceinfo. The fire is only a few meters from the houses.
The Drôme is also experiencing one of its biggest fires in the past three years. More than 300 hectares have already burned. “But here, there has been no evacuation because the fire is still far from homes”, says the journalist. Thanks to the hard work of firefighters, some fires in France have been fixed, such as in the Vosges and Maine-et-Loire.
