Unknown to the French, Antoine Armand became one of the most important ministers on Saturday, September 21. At 33, the parliamentarian from the Ensemble pour la République (EPR) group inherited the central portfolio of Economy and Finance. He will be accompanied to the Bercy ship by Laurent Saint-Martin.
A Macronist from the start, the former MP is taking over the hot topic of public accounts, with a seriously degraded budgetary situation. Marc Ferracci, at Industry, is close to the Head of State, having been an advisor to him on economic issues. Another MP from the EPR group, Anne Genetet, has been appointed to National Education, although she has so far distinguished herself more on defence issues.
Annie Genevard, in Agriculture, will also have to prove herself. Once considered for National Education, the elected official is a historic member of the Republicans, of which she is one of the executives.
Finally, the government also includes several local elected officials, such as Gil Avérous, the mayor of Châteauroux (Indre), which hosted the sport shooting events at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The president of the association Villes de France takes over the portfolio of the Ministry of Sports, replacing Amélie Oudéa-Castéra.
