Manae Feleu remains captain of the French XV for the Tournament

Appointed captain of the Bleues last fall, the second line was confirmed in this role on Monday by coaches Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz.

The coaches Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz have decided to renew their confidence in Manae Feleu in the role of captain of the Bleues for the next Six Nations Tournament, France Rugby announced on Monday March 11. At 24, the second row will have the task of leading Les Bleues to their first title in the competition since 2018.

The Grenobloise had already inherited the role during this fall’s WXV, concluded by the XV of France in fifth place in the first international division. She thus succeeded Audrey Forlani, initially designated by the current French staff upon her arrival in December 2022. Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz wanted to test several options in view of the next World Cup, scheduled for the summer of 2025.

For their entry into the Tournament, the French host Ireland on Saturday March 23 at Le Mans, before traveling to Edinburgh to face Scotland the following weekend. Currently gathered at INSEP, the XV of France wants to put an end to the domination of the English who remain at five Grand Slams in a row.
