He is accused of selling more than 1,200 “suicide kits” online, which led to the deaths of around 100 people in more than 40 countries. A former cook has been charged with premeditated murder in Canada, the court announced on Friday, January 27. The 58-year-old man was already accused of 14 murders, but until then, the notion of premeditation had not been accepted.

These accusations were therefore revised upwards. His lawyer announced his intention to plead not guilty. “He intends to defend himself against these new charges just as he planned to do with the previous ones.”said Matthew Gourlay.

Kenneth Law was arrested in May for having sold, since the end of 2020, a substance used as a food additive on several websites, targeting vulnerable people. In Canada, 14 victims aged 16 to 36 used this “kit” to end their lives. But this number is likely to increase, as authorities estimate that around 160 packages were sent across the country.
