man suspected of killing his partner and their two-year-old daughter arrested

A man suspected of having stabbed his companion and his daughter on the night of Friday 7 to Saturday 8 January, in Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis) was taken into custody, announced the prosecution of Bobigny on Saturday. A sister of the suspect was also seriously injured.

The two people killed are the suspect’s partner, aged 29, and his daughter, aged 2.5 years. They were found dead at their shared home, after a witness notified the police.

Another young woman, the suspect’s 20-year-old sister, fled through the patio door of the apartment, located on the 2nd floor of a building. Hospitalized in absolute urgency, she was operated and her prognosis is no longer engaged, says the prosecution on Saturday evening.

The three victims had all received several stab wounds. A weapon possibly that of the crime was found on the spot.

The 29-year-old suspect was arrested after fleeing the scene and violently hitting a wall while driving a car, explains the prosecution. He is still hospitalized with fractures to his hands, ankles and a pneumo-thorax.

“As it stands, no complaints have been found against him for acts of domestic violence”, affirms the public prosecutor’s office of Bobigny on Saturday evening. On the other hand, the suspect was the subject of several convictions between 2010 and 2021, for acts of violence, attacks on property, and traffic offenses or related to narcotics.

A an investigation was opened for homicide against spouse and parent and for attempted homicide.
