A suspect who allegedly stabbed a man in his twenties last week was arrested Thursday by the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

A young man was stabbed in Ville-Marie in Montreal on October 6th. On Thursday, the SPVM arrested a suspect, 20-year-old Donaldtelo Vilme.

Investigators from the Criminal Investigations Section, with the “close” collaboration of the Forensic Identification Section and the canine squad, apprehended the suspect, underlines the SPVM, in a press release.

Recall of facts

The authorities received a call on October 6, around 7 p.m., concerning a person injured by a stab wound at the corner of Beaudry and Sainte-Catherine Est streets, in the Ville-Marie borough. The victim was walking with a friend, when three individuals arrested them. The conflict escalated and a 24-year-old man was stabbed in the abdomen in the street. He was immediately transferred to a hospital center where he survived his injuries.
