The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into murder following the death of a man on Friday at around 6am in the Berthelot housing estate in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), franceinfo learned from a source close to the investigation.
According to this same source, around 5:30 a.m., two individuals on a scooter approached the victim, one of the two took out a weapon and fired five times. They then fled.
When they arrived on the scene, the police discovered the victim, with five bullet holes in the torso. He was treated by emergency doctors, but he was pronounced dead at 6 a.m. Several 9mm caliber shell casings were discovered at the scene by investigators.
This Friday evening, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office stated that a man was taken into custody before finally being released.
The SDPJ 92 (the Hauts-de-Seine judicial police) is in charge of the investigation.
