Dupuis, 51, considered by the police to be a cocaine trafficker and moneylender, is close to the mafia and bikers.

He was the victim of an attempted murder in Laval in 2020.

The crime occurred around 11 a.m. on the grounds of a car wash located on the service road of the Metropolitan Expressway, near Lacordaire Boulevard.

A man reportedly approached the SUV driven by Stéphane Dupuis and fired several shots, before fleeing in a vehicle that was found on fire.

The victim was transported to the hospital and according to several sources, she would have died.

During the 2000s, Stéphane Dupuis was arrested as part of an investigation by the defunct Regional Mixed Squad (ERM) of the Sûreté du Québec called Ziploc.

During the investigation, Dupuis had notably exchanged large sums of money with an individual whom he did not know was a mole for the police.

Members of the Hells Angels had also appeared in the investigation, but had not been charged.

More details to come.
