A 71-year-old man killed his 69-year-old wife before committing suicide on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday at the North hospital in Marseille, Franceinfo learned from a police source on Wednesday (October 20).
He left a letter in which he explains the reasons for his action. His wife had Charcot’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and was terminally ill. According to a police source, there is no history of domestic violence between these two people.
At around 3 a.m., the local police station was notified by the hospital where two shots had been heard. On the spot, the police discovered the body of a woman lying in her bed with a bullet in the head, as well as the body of a man shot in the mouth. An automatic pistol was also found on site.
