A man was injured in a new shooting that occurred in Échirolles (Isère) on Wednesday evening, France Bleu Isère learned from the police on Thursday, August 22. This is the seventh shooting in a month in the Grenoble metropolitan area.
The police were alerted to this new shooting by telephone, reports France Bleu Isère. When they arrived at the scene, they spotted a vehicle fleeing. The vehicle was quickly abandoned by its driver, who fled on foot. He could not be arrested. The police found 9 mm ammunition cases and also blood stains.
The police suspect a man of being involved in this shooting. He was taken to the Cèdres clinic in Échirolles shortly after the incident, wounded by bullets in the ankle. He was transferred to the Michallon University Hospital in Grenoble for surgery.
The Grenoble public prosecutor’s office is handling the investigation. Two hours before the incident, a police operation had been carried out in the Carrare building in Échirolles. A building located not far from the shooting and known to be a major drug dealing point.
