Man in uncertain condition after being electrocuted in Quebec

(Quebec) A man was electrocuted on Monday after coming into contact with a Hydro-Quebec wire in the Val-Bélair district of Quebec, reports the SPVQ.


Firefighters and police officers from the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) were called to intervene around 5:46 p.m. on Calcutta Street for a 40-year-old man who was electrocuted while cutting a cedar hedge on a family member’s property.

At the scene, firefighters performed resuscitation maneuvers before transporting the victim to a hospital in an ambulance escorted by the police.

The SPVQ reported in the evening that the man’s condition was considered uncertain.

The scene of the incident was protected by the police and investigators and forensic identification technicians are on site to reconstruct the facts and shed light on the element, adds the SPVQ.
