A 40-year-old man died on Saturday March 16 after being attacked with a knife in the entrance to the Super U in Onet-le-Château, in Aveyron, explains France 3 Occitanie. The attacker was arrested near the supermarket. The victim’s wife and son were hospitalized.

Firefighters were alerted shortly after 7 p.m. The father was in cardiovascular arrest when help arrived. Despite a long cardiac massage for almost an hour, the forty-year-old died. His wife was also injured in the attack. She was hospitalized, along with the couple’s 14-year-old son.

On X, formerly Twitter, the CEO of Super U, Dominique Schelcher addressed “support and thoughts for the victims of this tragic attack which occurred this evening in our store in Onet-le-Château in Aveyron”. The general director of Carrefour, Alexandre Bompard, also reacted: “On behalf of Carrefour, I express my solidarity with the employees of the Onet-le-Château store and all the Système U teams.”
