Behind the walls of a police station in the heart of Paris, a violent scene played out on the night of July 24. On CCTV footage, a man is arrested and taken into custody. He hands over his personal belongings when a police officer puts him in an armlock before violently hitting him on the head. A little later in the evening, while the man is shirtless, the situation escalates. A second police officer approaches and slaps him several times; the man tries to protect himself. In the back, colleagues watch the scene without intervening. The man who was beaten up is of Peruvian origin, he is 42 years old and heavily intoxicated. He was arrested for insults. There is no sound on the videos. It is impossible to know what is being said. The man in custody has a swollen, fractured arm, and shows his open eyebrow.

The two police officers have been suspended from their duties. Lawyers highlight the tense atmosphere in this police station. The two peace officers will be tried on October 29, they face up to seven years in prison and a fine of 100,000 euros.
