The Olympic relay continues between Paris and Los Angeles. After the Paralympic flag was handed over to the city of Los Angeles during the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games, six stations of the Paris metro were exceptionally renamed on Thursday, September 12, with the names of famous neighborhoods in Los Angeles, relays France Bleu Paris. It’s the same thing on the American West Coast. Five stations of the Los Angeles metro now bear the names of Parisian neighborhoods or monuments.

This Thursday, Paris metro users will get off at “Santa Monica” at “Saint-Michel”, “Malibu” instead of “Malesherbes”, “Hollywood Boulevard” at the “Grands Boulevards”, “Beverly Hills” at “Belleville” and “L’Haÿ-les-Roses” becomes “Melrose”. Finally, the “Olympiades” station, on line 14, is renamed “Olympiades Los Angeles”, and a photo booth is set up by the RATP, with a special Californian decor and accessories for a free photo.

Across the Atlantic, Los Angeles residents will be able to get off at Saint-Germain-des-Prés, Champs-Elysées, Eiffel Tower, Montmartre. And the “Maricahi Plaza” station is transformed into “Macaron Plaza” for gourmands. Los Angeles will host the next Olympic Games in 2028.
