Hydroxychloroquine was announced as a miracle cure for Covid-19 by doctor Didier Raoult during the pandemic. But an investigation report now indicates otherwise.
It is a voluminous report which points to serious dysfunctions at the University Hospital Institute (IHU) of Marseilles (Bouches-du-Rhone). The main problem : research around hydroxychloroquine, un supposedly miracle treatment against Covid-19 according to Marseille doctor Didier Raoult. “It is effective on coronaviruses with 500 mg per day and for ten days”explained the doctor during the health crisis. Words that attracted the crowd in front of the Marseille establishment during the pandemic.
However, as revealed by Mediapart months ago, and now marked in black and white on an investigation report, there were major flaws in the searches. Results based on the study of different groups of patients across France with the molecule, as in Marseille, and others without, as in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). The objective was to show whether the treatment was effective using PCR tests carried out regularly. “The criteria that allowed us to say that we were positive were different if the patient was treated in Marseille or Nice, says Mathieu Molimardprofessor of pharmacology at the University Hospital of Bordeaux (Gironde). Thus, positive patients in Nice would have been considered negative in Marseille. We are changing the rules of the game, it is a scientific scam”. It is in this way that I‘hydroxychloroquine has been validated atIHU from Marseille. The report also indicates that it is still prescribed in the establishment although it has been prohibited since May 2020.
