Vermicompost involves recycling green waste using earthworms. An initiative that avoids throwing away organic matter.

In a stable, earthworms have replaced cows. A ton of worms were raised in a few months. Anthony Perrier trained as an earthworm breeder out of curiosity before bringing his first worms home. The adventure of the worm farm was launched, to the surprise of those around them. Worms are not used for fishing or to feed chickens, but for waste.

More than a ton of organic matter per week

The idea came from a forestry operation, which employs Anthony, and where green waste is difficult to recycle. An agreement was made with the neighboring community of municipalities to recover residents’ bio-waste. On the farm, more than a ton of organic matter arrives every week. It is then mixed and crushed with green waste. After a health check, this material is eaten by earthworms, which make compost from it. On the markets, Anthony and Sandrine offer their products, training, as well as their worm composters.
