The Curry House (Montreal)
The best Indian cuisine, in my opinion! Even though it’s far from my residence, I was a very regular customer before the pandemic. It was near my old place of work, and I went there with a colleague at least once a week. They didn’t even ask us what we wanted anymore: curried lamb, sometimes with dahl soup, and the two of us had rice and a naan… with a little Indian beer. Then the pandemic arrived and my position was abolished. I live in Montreal North, so not nearby. Once, with my colleague, we decided to go get some take out. I left from Montreal North, he from Pointe-aux-Trembles. The first time, the lady was almost in tears! Every time I went back, I was always excited, like I was going to see family. »

Restaurant moa moa (Montreal)
For a comforting, delicious and flafla-free meal, nothing better than the fried chicken at the Korean restaurant moa moa, rue Wellington, in Verdun. If you are lucky enough to pick up your meal in person, you can meet the lovely owners of the place. And who knows, maybe you’ll be tempted by one of their delicious Korean specialties. Enough to make you travel in the comfort and safety of your home!

Danny Dan Pizza (Saint-Lambert)
I want to encourage restaurants, because I can’t do without them, pandemic or not. Restaurants are witnesses to our small and great joys: there is always a reason to share a good time: a party, a time with friends, a ” baby shower etc. The restaurant that fills me in a pandemic is that of Danny St-Pierre. The pizza pans are amazing! Unfortunately, the Saint-Lambert branch is closed. Please, little Jesus, make it open again… I will be good all year to come! Promised.

Editor’s note: The prayer of Mme Vincent was heard because Danny Pan Pizza Saint-Lambert reopened some time after receiving this email.
Mojito & Margarita (Montreal)
It’s divine and it makes us travel in the middle of winter. What’s more, it’s more than affordable and appeals to adults and children alike.

Fusion Zen and The Black Forest (Laval)
We have regularly ordered meals to bring during restaurant closings. As we stay in Sainte-Rose, we choose to encourage the restaurants of Vieux Sainte-Rose, because we like them very much and want to encourage local restaurants. The two main ones are Fusion Zen and Le Black Forest. Two excellent restaurants that have been able to adapt and have never disappointed us.

Chez Cheval (Mont-Saint-Hilaire)
We very often go to the restaurant Chez Cheval, in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, which is a stone’s throw from our residence. Louis-François Marcotte hired, as soon as the restaurants closed, a chef from the Club Chasse et Pêche, so no need to draw you a picture for the rest. The menu is simple, the food impeccable, and always with a smile when we are greeted at the restaurant. The menu changes with the seasons, which offers the advantage of always returning without repeating yourself.

Domaine Jolivent (Lac-Brome)
Since the beginning of last summer, we have been stocking up at the Domaine Jolivent boutique in Lac-Brome. Fine and delicious dishes. Delicious pies, refined sous vide dishes to reheat and an offer of Asian dishes such as wonton soup which is of a delicacy — the owner is of Vietnamese origin. Local products are also sold here. Very consistent quality and really good!

Baumier (Piedmont)
We live in the Laurentians and our favorite restaurant is the Baumier wine bar, in Piedmont (just on the edge of Saint-Sauveur). Baumier offers an interesting menu for two even for people from the Montreal region who would like to pick up a good dinner after a day outdoors in our beautiful region.

Crossroads (Chambly)
Since the start of the pandemic, we have had take-out meals prepared from the La Croissée des Chemins restaurant in Chambly. They do an excellent burger and a salmon tartare with fries. Everything is delicious! I tip my hat to them.

Trattoria Mario (Montreal)
We continued to support our neighborhood restaurant: Trattoria Mario, in Notre-Dame-de-Grâce. Italian family cuisine, excellent value for money, and Mario’s pizza, a delight! A favorite for us for several years.

Elsdale (Montreal)
For me, a good take-out meal, well done, succulent and with seasonal and promiscuous products, is the Elsdale, rue Beaubien, right in front of the cinema. In addition, you can get excellent wine from private importers.

Rustiek (Gatineau)
I encourage restaurants, especially Rustiek, in Gatineau, because the dishes are surprising and above all always exquisite. The suggestion of wine, beer or cider accompanying the dishes is always a pleasant discovery. Go ahead, encourage this jewel of Quebec cuisine!
