In a telegram addressed to the prefects, Gérald Darmanin asks to systematize the integration of the homes and offices of elected officials in the police and gendarmerie patrols. According to the letter, the parliamentary debate on the bill aimed at transforming the health pass into a vaccination pass is “likely to give rise to threats or even acts of action against elected officials”.
The current review of the bill has indeed increased the pressure a notch according to several elected macronists. Latest example: the personal car of LREM deputy Pascal Bois was partially charred in the fire in his garage on Wednesday, December 29; inscriptions “Vote no” and “It’ll fart” had been painted on the wall nearby.
President of the Law Commission, the deputy En Marche Yaël Braun-Pivet read on Wednesday, during the debut of the examination of the said bill, an extremely violent message that she received: “Your life as a collaborator-puppet is threatened. If you do not vote ‘no’ to the text, France will remember the National Assembly as a gigantic bloodbath in which the bodies that thought to rule us will lie.”
In Isère, three LREM deputies received death threats in November. One of them, Cendra Motin, describes a more tense climate than at the time of the “yellow vests”. “I found myself on roundabouts with very angry people surrounding me, but I never felt physically threatened with death like we can be today. There is absolutely none. dialogue possible, unlike the ‘yellow vests’, with whom we could discuss. “
Ludovic Mendes deputy walker from Moselle threatened with beheading, underlines that the presidential election is approaching, and he fears a violent and anxiety-provoking campaign: “I am afraid that this campaign will go badly, we have seen in some meetings a presence of violence. People no longer tolerate each other, no longer respect each other.”
Like other MPs in March, Ludovic Mendes now fears that these threats will lead to physical attacks.
