According to information gathered by the two media on Monday, 59 residents, out of a total of 112, and 39 employees have tested positive for COVID-19 since December 21. In addition, the residence had two deaths related to this outbreak.

A family member of one of the residents reportedly first shared the news with CTV News. The media subsequently confirmed the news to Paul Arbec, president of the company responsible for the CHSLD, Groupe Santé Arbec.

“We work with Public Health and the infection prevention and control center [du Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie-centre]. We have good support from them, ”Arbec told CTV, adding that his team is working around the clock to get the situation under control.

The president of the Arbec Health Group mentioned, in an interview with the “Montreal Gazette”, that the symptoms observed in infected people are rather mild with the exception of two people who were not vaccinated.

When joined by the QMI Agency on Tuesday, Mr. Arbec mentioned that he was no longer interviewing on this subject in order to be able to focus on the situation and the residents.
