Many Internet users around the world experienced problems with Meta’s social networks for nearly two hours Tuesday morning, according to data from the “DownDetector” site.
Facebook, Instagram, Threads and Whatsapp, which belong to the Meta group, were victims of a global outage which appears to have started around 10 a.m. The problem appears to have been resolved around 12 p.m.

On the “DownDetector” site, which allows users to report outages, nearly 540,000 incidents were reported around 10:30 a.m., at the height of the outage, for Facebook and Messenger.

Internet users who tried to log in to their account were notably redirected to an error page or told that their password was not the correct one.
“We are aware that people are having difficulty accessing our services. We are currently working on it,” said Andy Stone, spokesperson for Meta on the social network X.
