“I think we owe an apology to people who want to watch us play,” said Bichette, whose comments were picked up by the Sportsnet network. However, I believe that as an Association we have to fight for what is best for us.”

On Thursday, representatives of the Manfred Tour and the Players’ Association met for the first time since the commissioner announced the cancellation of the first two series of the season.

“It’s disappointing and frustrating, but that’s how it is,” continued Bichette. It’s just a shame that the fans are deprived of all the talent that is deployed in the league at the moment. We just want to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.”

This situation is a first in the young career of the one who participated in the all-star game in 2021.

“Our emotions fluctuated a lot,” he said. At times we thought we weren’t close to a deal, and at times we thought we were going to be back in action soon. That is what is difficult.”
