Police are still hunting the alleged perpetrator of the shooting which claimed the lives of at least 18 people and left 13 injured. The man opened fire on Wednesday evening, October 25, in a bar and a bowling alley in the town of Lewiston in the state of Maine.

The gigantic hunt for Robert Card, alleged shooter of one of the worst killings in recent years in the United States, continues. Hundreds of police officers are patrolling Lewiston, Maine’s second largest city, where 36,000 residents are expected to remain confined, facing the threat posed by this unbalanced former army reservist.

“A tragic and senseless act”

Eighteen people have already lost their lives in last night’s attacks. A toll that could rise, since 13 other people were injured in this mass killing. “A tragic and senseless act”, lamented Joe Biden. The US president ordered flags on federal buildings to be flown at half-mast, and again called on Congress to pass a ban on assault weapons.
