The Île-aux-Tourtes bridge remains the main hot spot for traffic jams on Saturday in the west of Greater Montreal, due to the closure of the A40 East, between boulevard des Anciens-Combattants and the next exit. Until Monday morning, repair projects for the Chemin des Pins overpass will be underway.

Traffic will also slow down on the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge towards the South Shore, especially above Île des Sœurs.

On the Jacques-Cartier and Victoria bridges, traffic remains fluid. Note that only one lane is open towards the South Shore on the Victoria Bridge, due to maintenance work on its structure, which will continue throughout the weekend.

As regards the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, the infrastructure will remain closed to motorists heading south for the entire weekend. At the time of writing these lines, traffic remains “fair” in the direction of Montreal, indicates Transports Quebec.

From next Monday, only three of the six lanes will be open in the tunnel until 2025.

Reminder of hindrances

Several other obstacles are to be expected for this weekend. All weekend long, avenue Souligny will be prohibited in both directions between rue Dickson and rue Honoré-Beaugrand.

Only one lane will remain open between Montreal and Kahnawake on the Honoré-Mercier Bridge.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, two lanes will be prohibited in the Galeries d’Anjou sector and the ramp leading from Route 138 to the A20 West in the Saint-Pierre interchange sector will be closed.
