Magistrate Agnès Thibault-Lecuivre will be appointed head of the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IGPN), learned franceinfo, confirming information from the Parisian. According to information from franceinfo, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin will announce this appointment this Wednesday, July 20 in the Council of Ministers. Agnès Thibault-Lecuivre, a 41-year-old experienced magistrate, had been deputy director of the cabinet of the Minister of the Interior since March 2022. She had joined the ministry in 2020 as a justice adviser. Previously, she was notably in charge of the press and communication mission for François Molins, when he was public prosecutor of Paris. Agnès Thibault-Lecuivre was notably in charge of preparing her speeches. She also served for almost a year as spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice.
