The “Residents’ dreams” association’s mission is to provide thrills and allow residents of Ehpad to make their dreams come true. The France Télévisions teams met Madeleine, 95, who took a karting tour.

From the top of her 95 years, Madeleine Bonizec believes that life still has great opportunities to offer. She decided to take on a challenge: driving a kart, for the very first time. This dream, she will share it with 30 other residents of houses of retirement. Everyone has only one idea in mind, to gain their independence for a lap. “I woke up calm, not upset. Now that I’m here I want to see how it goes “, comments the nonagenarian, ready to put the turbo.

After a security check, it’s time to hit the mushroom. Madeleine sets off on the circuit smoothly. The site offers electric karts suitable for all audiences, with the possibility of restricting the engines in an emergency using a remote control. To orchestrate this dream, the good fairy is the association “Dream of residents”. Its mission is to offer people in Ehpad a bubble of autonomy and freedom. “We are the little point of dream and madness that allows residents to escape, at the time of the dream but also in the preparation”, confides the president, Youri Bertomeu. Madeleine Bonizec, delighted with the experience, said she was ready to do it again.
