“Madame Le Pen can say thank you Macron,” says Alexis Corbière

“Madame Le Pen can say thank you Macron, the promoter of the National Rally”, ironically on Monday June 20 on France Inter, Alexis Corbière, deputy Nupes (LFI) elected in the first round of the legislative elections in the seventh constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis. He reacted to the score of the National Rally which won 89 seats. “There is a manager or managers, it’s the team that runs Macronie today”he believes. “When you explain that the ideas we carry are the same as those of the National Front, or even worse, that produces 89 RN deputies”criticizes the deputy of Nupes.

Alexis Corbière denounces “irresponsibility” Candidates Together! in the 61 constituencies where the left-wing coalition was opposed to the RN in the second round. “In 57 cases, there was no clear position that said that the RN did not need a voice”he laments, taking as an example the case of Jean-Michel Blanquer, former Minister of National Education, who was defeated in the first round in Loiret “and who sent everyone back to back”.

“Their crazy strategy aims to demonize us for weeks to prevent us from progressing”considers Alexis Corbière, denouncing “the worst caricatures”, “the worst profanity” formulated with regard to the Nupes. He regrets that some candidates have made themselves “calling a far-left anarchist” Where “anti-Semitic”.

For the member of the left coalition, “these madnesses are spreading in society”, pushing “the Macronist electorate no longer distinguishes between the far right and those who hold humanist values”. “This is the result of a terrible and worrying political strategy for the country”, believes Alexis Corbière.

The left-wing coalition won 133 seats, while the presidential majority Together! has 245 and the National Rally therefore 89. “We are the first opposition group in the Assembly, the first opposition force indisputably”, says Alexis Corbière. Which is true if we consider Nupes as a whole. But the score of the RN, obtained without alliances, propels it into the first opposition political party in the Assembly. The LFI deputy therefore calls on his allies to “work to build a coherent inter-group” with all the candidates of the Nupes, ecologists, communists, socialists and rebellious. “No trickery. It would be madness to divide when we presented ourselves to the French under the same label, those who trusted us would not understand”, he warns. “It will play the RN game and it will be applauded by the macronie.”

Finally, to the question “who to become leader of the Nupes in the Assembly”Alexis Corbière calls for patience. “Allow us to meet in the same room, to discover each other, to discuss and democratically decide on all this”, he says. Without giving any further details, the Member only formulates “the wish that it be a woman”, with particular reference to Mathilde Panot, the president of the LFI group in the National Assembly.
