Many voters loyal to the presidential camp fear a period of unrest after the victory of the New Popular Front in the second round of the legislative elections on Sunday, July 7. France Télévisions went to Anjou, a Macronist region, where the idea of an alliance is gaining ground.
In the Macronist stronghold of Anjou, seven deputies, including six loyal to the former presidential majority, were re-elected on Sunday evening, July 7. The idea of a government in alliance with the left is appealing, but still raises questions: “What I hope is that we learn to govern together, all parties combined, all tendencies combined”comments one resident, while another retorts that “the programs are not compatible”and advocates the solution of a “technical government”.
Voters in the surrounding villages, where the Ensemble candidate sometimes exceeded 60%, notably thanks to votes from the left, are not opposed to it.Everyone has to get along, but that’s going to be something else.”recognizes a voter. “Dare“, says Philippe Bolo, a MoDem deputy re-elected Sunday in this area of Maine-et-Loire. For him, the “at the same time” is far from dead, he actually wishes “reaching out to moderates.” But even in the gentle Angevin, voters expect some unrest.
