“Emmanuel Macron and Elisabeth Borne are the biggest gravediggers of French nuclear power”, accuses Pierre-Henri Dumont, deputy Les Républicains du Pas-de-Calais, Wednesday August 31 on franceinfo. According to him, the current energy situation “is the result of ten years of massive disinvestment in nuclear power, which made it possible to guarantee the energy sovereignty of our country”.

“They sold the turbines to General Electric before buying them twice the price, they closed Fessenheim and still plan to close 12 more reactors”, says MP LR. While Pierre-Henri Dumont does not regret the European sanctions taken against Russia, he believes that“they wouldn’t have had the same impact if we were prepared”.

“Emmanuel Macron, first under François Hollande, then as President of the Republic, weakened France.”

The MP for Pas-de-Calais once again defends the proposal of his party Les Républicains “to decouple the price of gas and electricity on the European energy market”. According to him, this will allow “to lower prices” and continue to assume “values” of France against Russia which “flouts international law”.
