Ma Prime Adapt’, the new help for better aging at home

Ma Prime Adapt’ is intended to help seniors age better at home. But who is this help for? For what work? And what are the eligibility conditions?

From the age of 65, falls at home constitute an increasing risk for the elderly: every year in France, 450,000 elderly people fall at home. Housing unsuitable for the mobility of elderly people is the cause of 80% of these accidents.

Anticipating, from the age of retirement, the development of the habitat allows the senior to ward off the fall, at a time when he is able-bodied, and when he can make the necessary decisions.

A housing assistance system for seniors

My Prime Adapt’ is intended to people over 70 years old, with a disability, or meeting certain other criteria as have annual income of less than 25,000 euros, but for what purpose precisely? By helping financially to carry out certain work improving the ergonomics of housing or to install equipment:

The installation of grab bars, stair lifts, ergonomic toilets, the renovation of the bathroom with wall-mounted seat, the modification of a bathtub into a walk-in bathtub, the replacement of a slippery covering with another to the properties non-slip, widening of openings (doors, etc.), installation of a light path.

Announced in November 2021, Ma Prime Adapt’ is financial assistance to adapt the housing of elderly people to their new needs Managed by the National Housing Agency (ANAH), it will come into force on 1er January 2024.

The conditions to be met to be eligible for Ma Prime Adapt’

Have reached the age of 70 or over, at the time of the request, without condition of loss of autonomy,

Be between 60 and 69 years old at the time of the request, subject to attesting to a loss of autonomy of stage Gir 1, 2, 3 or 4, be in a situation of disability, without age condition, but able to attest with a disability rate greater than 50%, or eligible for the PCH (disability compensation benefit), live in the residence affected by the work, owner or tenant, have annual income less than 25,000 euros, reside in an area eligible for this aid.
