The M6 ​​channel is due to announce on Thursday March 7 that it has won the TV rights to the 2026 Football World Cup, according to information obtained by franceinfo. TF1, historical broadcaster of the event, has therefore not acquired the rights for this next edition. This does not mean that TF1 will not be able to broadcast World Cup matches, the channel can always buy certain rights from M6.

The 23rd edition of the World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026 and will be organized by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
