Lynx Air CEO surprise resignation

Lynx Air announced on Friday the departure of its president and chief executive, Merren McArthur, for personal reasons.

Merren McArthur, founder and chief executive of Lynx Air, joined the airline in June 2021 and led it to the launch of its first flight in April 2022. Mme McArthur will continue in office until the end of September and will therefore be involved in the selection of a new CEO.

Originally from Australia, the resigning CEO wishes to return to the country to join her family. In interview at The Press last May on the occasion of the launch of the activities of the discount airline in Montreal, Merren McArthur announced that the company intended to increase from 7 to 10 aircraft by the end of the year with the objective of having a fleet of 46 aircraft by 2028.

Lynx’s shareholders include the private investment firm Indigo Partners LLC owned by businessman Bill Franke.
