“Thank God she was healed very quickly, she was taken care of very early on but that’s the kind of thing I wanted to talk about in a very simple way, not at all to make people cry in the cottages…” Already, in 2015, on the set of “C to You”, Chimène Badi talks about her mother’s cancer in front of Pierre Lescure who asks her about the subject. Lung cancer that almost cost the career of the 40-year-old artist.

Indeed, if this one has never had trouble talking about the disease, this is the first time that she has indicated the impact that it has had on her career. In the show “The Storms of Life”led by Christophe Dechavanne, the former candidate of “Popstars” wished to say more about this difficult period for her. The one who says she is “anxious” at the idea of ​​becoming a mother explains to the host: “My mother was sick with lung cancer. When I learned that, of course, it was a shock”.

Chimène Badi’s mother affected by cancer

Today, Cherifa Badi is doing much better. However, the fear of losing her almost cost her daughter’s career, and for a very specific reason: “With us singers, the emotional shocks arise on the vocal cords. At that time, I have edema in the vocal cords and I can no longer sing”, she confides to Christophe Dechavanne. For a long time, the one who had a complicated time with the inhabitants of a village in Lot-et-Garonne simply lost her grain of voice.

“It’s gone, it’s white”she recalls. “I freaked out”, continues Chimène Badi, who had to put her career on hold for a year because of this problem. The 40-year-old artist insists: “I freaked out. I couldn’t bear to lose this because ever since I was little it’s been my way of getting better.” A bad memory that is now part of the past for good, and that’s good.
