Lukashenko will not go go

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has become the hero of the migrants for having helped them so obligingly to cross the country to go to the Polish border to meet. Europe’s last dictator treats migrants better than his people.

He practices the same type of blackmail that Erdogan practiced in Turkey, with the support of Putin, the Russian president. Lukashenko thus hopes that Europe will weaken in the chapter of the sanctions aimed at punishing its authoritarian mode. But she must stand firm; on the contrary, the sanctions must be stepped up.

The hapless migrants, attracted by Germany which opened its doors to 1.1 million migrants in 2015, unfortunately bear the brunt of it.
