“I wanted to make a show on a large scale and I wanted to be quite strong. This show comes at the right time in my career and I feel ready after three albums and three tours. The accomplishment, after all these months of work, makes me emotional,” the singer told Newspaper, the morning before his second show of the BB tribute tour.
In addition to delivering BB’s biggest songs on stage, the performer opens up about his relationship with his father like he never has before. Soul of BB, Patrick Bourgeois died of cancer at the age of 55 in November 2017.
“I’m talking about the last time I saw my father before he died. It brings up the emotions. I felt that it was a special moment and that the spectators wanted me to go there,” explains the man with whom the public shares this special moment with eyes full of water and a tight throat.
In his eyes, BB music is timeless.
“It is anchored in the collective memory. The proof is that there are still plenty of BB songs in karaoke,” he says.
Indeed, who has never screamed the chorus of Give me my chance late night at a karaoke bar?
Privileged
With this show, Ludovick Bourgeois’ mission is simple: “I’m just happy to make people happy,” assures the man who sees himself as a entertainer.
He says he has no problem singing BB pieces for a while rather than his own songs.
The singer also recognizes that he is privileged to receive so much affection from spectators. “It’s a lot of love and recognition that my sisters, for example, can’t receive.”
