The RN candidate qualified for the second round in the first constituency of Calvados, Ludivine Daoudi, is withdrawing her candidacy after the publication of a photo of her wearing a Nazi Luftwaffe non-commissioned officer cap with a swastika on it, reveals France Bleu Normandie, Tuesday July 2. The photo was published Monday on the social networks of her political opponent, Emma Fourreau, candidate of the New Popular Front.

The departmental delegate of the RN, guest of France Bleu Normandie Tuesday morning, Philippe Chapron, confirmed the withdrawal of the candidate from the constituency of Caen. The photo was taken “a long time ago, when Mrs. Daoudi was absolutely not in the National Rally”. It dates from “several years in a weapons exchange in Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives”explains the RN leader.

“She doesn’t deny it, she took this photo. Indeed, it was in bad taste, admits the RN leader. In any case, the candidacy will be withdrawn today.”

Ludivine Daoudi did not respond to requests for interviews, France Bleu Normandie reports. The political decision is “a decision agreed between us and at headquarters level. She is withdrawing so as not to harm the RN and its candidatessays Philippe Chapron. We cannot accept this kind of thing. The candidacy will be withdrawn today and therefore there will be no RN candidate in the first constituency for the second round.”

There will therefore be no three-way race in this constituency. Emma Fourreau, candidate of the New Popular Front (34.82% in the first round), will therefore be opposed to Joël Bruneau (DVD) (43.11% in the first round).
