Luc Boileau provides an update on COVID-19 in Quebec

The acting national director of public health, Dr.r Luc Boileau, gave an update on the COVID-19 situation in Quebec on Friday. This press conference comes shortly after his appearance before the parliamentary committee on the bill ending the state of emergency.

The Dr Boileau will probably provide an update on the vaccination campaign for the second booster dose. He could be questioned about the current dangerousness of the coronavirus, while Prime Minister François Legault compared COVID-19 to a cold.

Health authorities reported Friday 1,637 hospitalizations linked to COVID-19 in Quebec, an increase of 55 compared to the previous day. Of these, 62 patients are in intensive care, 2 less. Quebec also reports 30 additional deaths from the disease and officially lists 3,572 new cases of COVID-19.
