LREM MP Anne-France Brunet targeted by a complaint for violence and harassment

A complaint for violence and harassment has been filed against LREM MP for Loire-Atlantique Anne-France Brunet by a former parliamentary assistant, as her lawyer announced to AFP. “My client, Camille Jaffrelo, has gone through a long process of forced team management, like one person before her and another after her. Everything is fine at first, then the person is denigrated, isolated, and n no more work, which is characteristic of harassment”declared Me Philippe Blanchetier.

Contacted by AFP, the public prosecutor of Nantes declared that this complaint “had not (yet) arrived” up to him. On his side, Anne-France Brunet, who is standing in the legislative elections without having been officially invested, denies any form of harassment or violence towards her former assistant. “I can assure you that I am neither violent nor harassing my collaborators, all of this is completely false”she reacted, saying to wonder “at the chosen time” to file this complaint.

The charges against the LREM parliamentarian extend from February to July 2018, according to this document dated Tuesday and consulted by AFP. The deputy for the 3rd constituency of Loire-Atlantique (Nantes, Saint-Herblain) then hired Camille Jaffrelo, then 22 years old, on a fixed-term contract, in parallel with her studies in business school.

Placed on sick leave in July 2018

“At the time, Camille Jaffrelo was very young, relatively impressionable and impressed, she had to get out of political life to reach a level of consciousness that allowed her to report the facts”comments Me Blanchetier.

In her complaint, the young woman describes phone calls “incessant sometimes at very late hours” on his personal phone, days of unpaid work, “public humiliation” causing stress and weight loss. When she is placed on sick leave for “stress at work” in July 2018, she claims to be the “fourth employee on sick leave for overwork in one year”.

The lawyer also reports a scene “of violence” the day of the end of the CDD of his client who would then have been “rushed against a pole in the office of the deputy” and would have “crushes the foot” by Anne-France Brunet, causing “the fracture of a foot bone confirmed by medical certificate”. At the time, Ms. Jaffrelo had filed a handrail.
