A speech that questions the right. On Thursday, April 25, the Republicans contacted the National Commission for Campaign Accounts and Political Financing (CNCCFP) as well as the Regulatory Authority for Audiovisual and Digital Communication (Arcom) so that Emmanuel Macron’s speech on the Europe at the Sorbonne, which they describe “electoral propaganda operation”be counted from the Renaissance campaign.
“This demonstration cannot be considered as the international action of the Head of State because it constitutes an electoral propaganda operation in support of a list”, writes the boss of the Les Républicains party, Eric Ciotti, in two letters consulted by France Télévisions. Considering that Emmanuel Macron’s speech “is a communication operation linked to the elections” European elections of June 9 “as part of official support” at Renaissance, the right asks the CNCCFP to “good consideration of expenses (…) within the campaign account” from the list led by Valérie Hayer.
Eric Ciotti specifies that his request concerns the “direct and indirect costs as well as various benefits in kind received”. Regarding Arcom, the Republicans demand that it be counted “from the speaking time of the list led by Ms. Valérie Hayer, the entire speech of the President of the Republic”.
