The Swedish women’s hockey league’s MVP, Lina Ljungblom, will play with the Montreal team for the next three seasons.
The latter made the announcement Monday afternoon, a few hours before the second draft of the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
Ljungblom was the very last pick in the 2023 draft, at 90e rank. The 22-year-old forward has been on fire in Sweden this season, scoring 23 goals and 23 assists in 32 games. She finished the campaign third in scoring on the circuit and continued the work in the playoffs, scoring eight goals and two assists to lead her team to the final.
The 5’6″, 174 lb forward also represented the Swedish national team at the World Championship, recording two goals and an assist in five games.
