LPHF | Montreal goalkeeper Ann-Renée Desbiens among the stars of the week

(Toronto) Montreal goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens was named second star of the last week in the Professional Women’s Hockey League on Monday.


Toronto center Sarah Nurse and Boston center Hannah Brandt were selected first and third stars, respectively.

Desbiens signed two victories, showing a goals against average of 1.00 and an efficiency rate of .969. She recorded her first shutout on the new circuit in a 2-0 win against Ottawa on Saturday.

Nurse completed her first hat trick in the LPHF when Toronto defeated New York 6-2 on Sunday.

The teams from Toronto – first in the standings – and Montreal ensured home ice advantage in the first round with their victories.

Brandt scored in the shootout after recording an assist in a 3-2 loss to Ottawa on Wednesday before scoring the game-winning goal with 2.7 seconds left as Boston beat Minnesota 2-1 on Saturday.
