LPGA | Hannah Green wins in Singapore

(Singapore) Australian Hannah Green made a superb 30-foot birdie on the final hole on Sunday, winning the HSBC Championship by one stroke ahead of Céline Boutier.

Green had six birdies including one on each of the last three holes.

She played 67 and totaled 275, 13 shots under par. The 27-year-old made just one bogey.

Green deserved a fourth title for Green, a first since the Los Angeles Championship last year.

“I knew on the greens I had to be aggressive and at least hit the ball past the hole, rather than coming up short,” Green said.

Boutier (67), a 30-year-old Frenchwoman, won four titles last season, including the Scottish Open and the Evian Championship.

“I played a lot better than yesterday, which was really positive. I gave myself a lot of chances,” Boutier said. I am very satisfied with my journey. »

Yuna Nishimura (66) made six birdies for a score of 279, in a four-way tie for third place with Canadian Brooke Henderson (68), Mi Hyang Lee (67) and NASA Hataoka (69).

Ontarian Henderson totaled five birdies, including three in a row starting on the 15the hole.

Leader after three rounds, Ayaka Furue could not do better than 75 and found herself eighth, at 288.

Defending champion Jin Young Ko (71) and Patty Tavatanakit (67), victorious in Thailand last week, also finished eighth.

Next week the Blue Bay event will take place on the island of Hainan, China. The next tournament begins on March 21 in Palos Verdes, California.
