Emmy Award-winning actress Sarah Snook is set to make her Broadway debut, taking on the challenging role of 26 characters in The Portrait of Dorian Gray. This adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s haunting novel is slated to premiere in New York in March 2025, showcasing a limited engagement.

The production is directed by Kip Williams, who recently wrapped up a successful run in London’s West End. Wilde’s 1890 tale centers on a man who forsakes his soul for everlasting youth and beauty. As noted in the official press release, “Williams’s vision of beauty, indulgence, and a pact with the devil resonates powerfully in our contemporary landscape, reflecting society’s obsession with youth in the 21st century.

Bringing The Portrait of Dorian Gray to life in London has been an incredible opportunity, and I couldn’t be more excited to share this mesmerizing production with audiences in New York,” Snook expressed in a statement. “From Wilde’s enduring prose to Williams’ brilliant reimagining, this narrative exploring themes of virtue, corruption, vanity, and their consequences is an exhilarating journey for me, as much as it will be for the audience. I am eager to embark on this ambitious creative project.

In addition to her upcoming Broadway role, Sarah Snook boasts an Olivier Award for her performance in London. She is widely recognized for her Emmy-winning portrayal of Shiv Roy in HBO’s acclaimed series Succession, which ran for four seasons. Her theatrical experience also includes acclaimed productions of King Lear, Solness the Builder, and St. Joan. On film, Snook has appeared in titles such as Steve Jobs, An American Pickle, and Run Rabbit Run.
