“Lourd et Délicat” by Coline Rio, an EP that plays as much on pointillism as on polychromy

Born into a family of musicians, Coline Rio dreamed, very young, of sing on a stage. This dream becomes reality thanks to Didier Varrod, director of the antennas of Radio France, who organized the competition “To be 20 years old in 21”. The winner then composes Horizon, a very noticed song which attracts the full consideration of the jury and the public, placing her among the last 10 finalists and allowing her to also be invited to the Hyper Weekend Festival at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, in January 2022.

This creation is a compendium of emotionsinvoking the feeling of abandonment, the lack of human contact, the lack of laughter and the need to tap into one’s own inner resources.

The period of confinement was very fertile for this artist who knew how to project herself into a Horizon, can be dark but very creative, to evoke the end of love, the end of friendship and above all renewal, rebirth and hope. With a limpid and touching voice that gracefully soars over the soft notes of his pianoshrouded in the cello of Cécile Lacharme.

Coline delivers today the fruit of 2 years of work with her new album “Lourd et Délicat”. The latter binds in a permanent dialogue between classic and modernthe sensitive and the imperious, the assurance and the doubt, the elastic agility of the voice and the choral breakthrough, the poetic and the cinematographic.
