The French group Louise Attaque returns after six years of absence. The group’s mythical albums have made it cult. He is celebrating his 25th birthday and his story does not seem ready to stop.
Thursday, November 3, in the studio of a major radio station, Louise Attaque unveils some tracks from her new album. An event for a group entered into the Pantheon of French rock. In 1997, a UFO made of acoustic instruments and violins landed on the airwaves, the group launched with I bring you with wind. At the time, Gaétan Roussel was compared to Jacques Brel for the intonation of his voice. “If it’s because Brel had a generous, overflowing way of singing and people compare me to him, that means that I have a bit of the same and that’s good”, said in 1998 the person concerned.
The public adheres even before the release of his first album. “People sang by heart, not because they knew the songs, but because they were so immediate. The choruses repeat, you hear it a first time, the second chorus, you sing with them”, explains their first producer Marc Thonon. Filled with hits, the disc will sell three million copies. Since then, the group has become a cult, its music too. Despite breaks due to internal tensions and breakdowns of inspiration, the group is still on the attack and eagerly awaited in concert halls. A new tour is scheduled for March.
