Two photos of Emmanuel Macron boxing were shared this week on the Web, by his official photographer Soazig de la Moissonnière, and they caused, unsurprisingly, a monumental buzz. If many Internet users were seduced by the biceps of the Head of State (very effective with housewives under 50), many cried ridicule, manipulation, or both.
“Dedication, discipline and commitment“
On the Web, many people also see in these photos a message sent to Vladimir Putin, himself a fan of the exercise, while he threatens Paris with a nuclear attack… Also, on X, an Internet user explained about this staging that he deplored the “neo-populist virilism of which certain leaders are fond today, starting with the master of the genre (until now) Vladimir Putin. And it was Louis Sarkozy, the youngest son of former president Nicolas Sarkozy, who answered him.
The young man, who appeared only a few days ago on the Instagram account of his wife, Natali Husic, shirtless at the gym, said: “I (slightly) disagree with you, sir”. And to explain: “In our societies, it is increasingly rare to be in good physical shape as we age. I am one of those who think that being fit and physically strong is an immeasurable advantage over those who are not.”
Son of a big fan of jogging, himself well trained, after studying at a military academy, Louis Sarkozy estimated: “It is also a testament to a person’s dedication, discipline and commitment, especially with a schedule as busy as our president’s.”
“We should be proud
Capucine Anav’s ex also concluded: “For those who think this is purely a matter of aesthetics, I encourage reading the abundant medical literature that explains the strong links between physical fitness and mental acuity. It is a something we should be proud of, not something we should be embarrassed about“.
