Starting this Friday, it will now be prohibited for trucks to use the right lane of Highway 25 southbound between exit 6 (towards rue Beaubien and boulevard Yves-Prévost) and the Louis tunnel -Hippolyte-La Fontaine.

The Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable (MTMD) thus hopes to improve safety and traffic flow at the entrances and exits of Highway 25 up to the tunnel “since motorists will be able to enter a highway lane without trucks”.

It is precisely on Highway 25 southbound that the congestion was the heaviest so far since the start of the megaconstruction site. On some days, vehicles may have taken more than 50 minutes to cover the 5 km between the Anjou interchange and the entrance to the tunnel.

It should be noted that the implementation of this new track management will require the complete closure of the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel during the night of November 17 to 18, 2022.
