Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel: adjustments to mitigation measures

Faced with the limited success of some of the mitigation measures related to the tunnel works, the Ministry of Transport is making adjustments, including the establishment of a free “health shuttle” that will go to the hospital Maisonneuve Rosemont.

Transport Minister Geneviève Guilbault made the announcement on Wednesday in a press release.

The new RTL-462 line will begin its journey at the Touraine and Mortagne park-and-ride lots, stop at Radisson, then continue on to the hospital. The deployment of a second “health shuttle” is also under discussion.

Two other lines, exo-520 and exo-521, which only ran once every hour, will be merged.

The resulting exo-520 line will, according to the government, offer a better journey time to the Radisson terminus. It will serve the Beloeil, Sainte-Julie and Radisson park-and-ride lots every 30 minutes during peak hours.

The RTL on demand service, which allows you to reserve a shared taxi for travel in the industrial parks of Longueuil and Boucherville, will have an expanded area that will now serve the Sainte-Julie, Touraine and Mortagne park-and-ride lots, in plus the Harmonie and Boisé districts.

“Your government is in solution mode and has been rigorously monitoring the situation at the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel since work began. We will not hesitate to make other adjustments as needed to make life easier for everyone,” said Ms. Guibault.

It also recalls that the delivery of free passes at the Radisson terminus will be extended until December 18, 2022.
