Lots of reinforcement at the Rocket

With its many players promoted by the Montreal Canadiens, the Laval Rocket called on five hockey players to replenish its workforce on Thursday.

Thus, the Habs school club in the American League has recalled forwards Shawn St-Amant and Justin Ducharme, as has defenseman Charles-David Beaudoin, of the Trois-Rivières Lions, of the ECHL. Then, the Laval team gave a professional try to forward Ryan Valentini and goalkeeper Louis-Philippe Guindon.

Moreover, the Rocket is rather helpless in front of the net, because Cayden Primeau – now on the floor due to COVID-19 – and Michael McNiven were sent to Montreal to make up for the absence of Jake Allen, among others, also struggling with the coronavirus.

The team’s games scheduled for Dec. 18 and 29 against the Syracuse Crunch have been postponed. In principle, it will host the Springfield Thunderbirds on January 5 at Place Bell. If this is the case, the duel will take place behind closed doors, under the measures put in place by the provincial government.

Lions postpone matches

Due to the most recent health measures announced by the Quebec government, the Lions will not play at home in January.

The Mauricie organization made the announcement Thursday evening on its social networks, adding that it had taken the decision “jointly with the ECHL”.

Thus, the games of January 5, 14 and 15 against the Adirondack Thunder will be resumed on February 15, March 30 and April 13. The January 26 game against the Reading Royals has been postponed to April 3. Finally, the game that was originally scheduled to take place on December 27 against the Mariners of Maine, but which was canceled, will instead be played on March 29.
